Our little UK warm up jaunt is over now and I’m back amongst the palm trees doing interviews and preparing for the full UK tour in May. I just want to thank everyone who ventured out to see us and made it such a laugh. Gorefest was very cool, contact lenses and fake blood all over, and it was great to see the Devolution mag gang out in force looking so zombie-glam! It seems I may be presenting an award at the horror awards in Oct as a special guest. I have to thank Lennie for presenting me with all the cds and vinyl from my first band which he heard I had lost when our van was stolen a while back! Now I have replacements and they can take their rightful place amongst my memorabilia. I signed his bass guitar that night too- and hung out in his mates caravan. Those guys know how to travel in style! John (who features in some of our USA Mindless Self Indulgence tour photos on myspace ) travelled all the way from Oklahoma and caught all three shows, making us all choked up and emotional. The last gig in Grimsby was very memorable and I ‘d like to thank our biker friends there for the special brand of hospitality they showed us that night. K O Kaine were their usual lovely and fun selves, and rocked hard to boot. Ad did ace on vocals for someone with a partially collapsed lung (!!) and another band member who shall remain nameless coped pretty well with the show in shock after having accidentally run over someone’s dog on the way to the venue, and been surrounded by dodgy chavs. I got a big easter egg too so that's a surprize AND chocolate!
On a sad note, the untimely death of Pete Steele has shocked and saddened us. We’re all very respectful and fond of Type O Negative, Al particularly as he had the pleasure of touring with them whilst in a previous band. Peter took a shine to his lovely blonde hair or so I’m told.
Peter Steele Rest In Peace.
All that’s left to say is enjoy the new photos uploaded to myspace, and keep an eye out for tour updates and incoming press, get yourself a possee together, we’ll make the flame of rock burn bright in May.

Gorefest may have been one of my best nights out I've ever had!! Andy actually said that he may never get over it, it was that good!! That VIP bar chilling with Mr Drew and Mik from KO Kaine was something else!! I even made the queen of gore herself Emily Booth cringe and as for Zombina, well she couldn't even look at me LOL!!
ReplyDeleteI really gotta say that you guys are the most down to earth, approachable and friendliest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing, especially you Grog!! You've seriously got fans for life now with Andy and Danny, and the rest of the gang from my band Bad Wolf that I'm bringing to Manchester on the 20th are gonna be as well, I guarantee it!!
I'm glad you liked your gifts, wait til you see what I'm bringing to The Scala on the 21st!!
Can't wait to do it all again in 5 weeks!! Bristol is gonna be pretty special for me cos I can finally introduce you to my lil' sis Alice!! She is such a big DSF fan and I know you're all gonna love her!!
Anyway, I'm starting to ramble so I'll cut it short!! Thanks for everything and I'll see you in May!!
Lennie xx
p.s. R.I.P. Peter Steele - the next Bad Wolf gig will be dedicated to you xx
