It's so good to be back together again in the same city, the smokey metropolis of London. We're preparing for our upcoming festivals, tomorrow we hit DV8 festival at York Stereo, then on to Finland to headline Naamat festival in Finland which should be a fun adventure out into the wilds! This is also an important trip over for me from LA because we've been writing our butts off and e mailing song ideas back and forth over the internet like wildfire, and now we can actually play what we've written as a complete band, and finalise some of our ideas for the next album. To finish off we have Schollenpop festival in Holland on August 6 which I'm really looking forward to, it's headlined by Killing Joke , who we all love, and we'll get to catch up with our Dutch uber-fans, yay! So, stage time tomorrow is 9pm-see you down the front! \m/

Die So Fluid are happy to announce that they will be headlining a festival in Finland this summer 2011, full details to be released at a later date, and more shows coming in.

The resounding success of the recent UK tour has left us wanting more, and we're bringing you more in MAY!! The whole thing grew in excitement towards the final whirlwind weekend featuring 2 packed shows at Southampton Talking Heads, and London Dingwalls. There really was a great feeling of supportiveness and comeraderie throughout, and Killing For Company were the best on the road companions you could wish for. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who came out to see us, all who looked after us and followed our progress. There's tons of photos and videos on our facebook pages- Grog Rox, and Die So Fluid, so if you haven't joined up yet, get over there and take a look!

The shows in May take us to Liverpool, Edinburgh and Leeds at last which will be good news for some, and the whole thing culminates with a very special evening's entertainment at 'Miss Alternative UK 2011' held at the Scala in London. Grog is on a celebrity panel of judges and 24 unconventional beauties will compete to win the title, after which the Alternative Ball will kick off at midnight with a special performance from DIE SO FLUID. The party will continue til 6am so start picking out your wardrobe!!

Conquering the snows of valhalla and HARD ROCK HELL-TOUR BLOG!

Hey! the last five days have been a great adventure in the history of Die So Fluid. Talk about battling against the elements, I mean, I know it's our ethos to overcome and excel whatever's thrown in our path but who would've thought we'd schedule this trip so perfectly for the arrival of heavy snowfall and below zero temperatures. As usual we remained undeterred and on the whole we had a miraculously trouble free time on the road. We were unable to make it to Brighton which was hit pretty bad, but all other gigs went ahead and were made all the more buzzy by the fact that you guys turned up too despite extreme weather conditions! Thanks to you all and our amazing crew who looked after us incredibly.

Thanks for the drawings, presents and cards, and general FUN and hilarity! Our appearance at Hard Rock Hell IV I can only describe as a thrill for us. It was totally like the Anvil film whe they played Japan. We were on at 3pm, the hall was massive and empty, then in the 5 minutes before we went on it literally filled entirely with 1200-1500 people! We stormed it and there's loads of people talking about it on the HRH forum, I think we made quite an impression! Thnks to Lennie, one of our biggest fans, who brought ingredients and made us a mind blowing curry in his Pontins chalet! We did 3 hours of press after the show and also recorded an acoustic version of Storm for Pheonix radio. Later we got to watch Skid Row, Hardcore Superstar, Airbourne, and even play pirate video games which was awesome.

Thanks to Resist for lending an amp when my fuse blew the other night at MohoLive. Mr Drew was an awesome soldier of rock it has to be said, cos he got a recurrence of shingles on the first day, and our team got him to a hospital for anti viral drugs which caught it in the nick of time. The new t shirt design proved very popular and we'll be adding more gig pics over the next few days, plus some film, so send yours in or post'em online!

This has felt like a very important little tour, and maybe shown a few people what we really do and that we mean serious business. See you all next year and let's watch this shit explode!! :D

Mr Drew and Grog's California G & L factory visit

Mr Drew has arrived safely in sunny California, where he's visiting me to work on material for the next album, and catch up on band business. Here's a pic of us yesterday visiting the G&L guitar factory in Fullerton LA where we were given a personal tour by Dave McLaren and Steve Grom. I've been playing G &L basses for quite some time now and always sing their praises in interviews. In fact we gave away a G&L bass as a prize in Germany for our support band competition.
We hung out in Leo Fender's original office where many of his personal effects, plans, photos and prototypes still remain.

In fact his spirit still lives on there, and employees have reported several eerie goings on! It's easy to imagine why when he designed guitars with such passion, he'd only just finished an early baritone the day he passed away.Notice in the last photo the snap of Leo presenting some extremely happy girls with a shiny pink guitar :D I know that feeling

The PR campaign has just begun in Germany for the release of 'The World Is Too big For One Lifetime' on November 5. Grog's been having lots of fun with her phoner interviews and the band are really happy and excited the album is receiving an exceptionally warm welcome. It is now set to be released in Italy Spain,Portugal,Greece,Israel, Russia & former Soviet satellites between the 10th and 15th of January 2011.
Grog's got herself some new ink, it's her own design symbolic of 'embracing one's mortality',because only then can you really live'. The work was done by Dirt Von Karloff (Society 1) at the Blue Horseshoe in Hollywood. Grog's really looking forward to October when Mr Drew will be visiting her there to further the work they've been doing writing material for the next album.

We’re excited that our cover of 16 Tons will be played in a podcast tomorrow August 1, as part of an in depth interview Tom did for ‘Today Is Boring’ arts related radio show with emphasis on his latest docu-film on The Doors ‘When You’re Strange’. All details in Tom’s blog above.
Will and I have also been working on a project together called ‘Scant Regard’, in which I write and sing vocals.As the name suggests, it throws rules out the window and is pretty experimental. There’s a possible ep in the works! More on that later..
I regard all this ‘extra curricular’ business as highly important to my creative process, as I get to express ideas and record material which isn’t suitable for Die So Fluid, and all the while develop skills and fresh inspirations to ‘bring on home’. Mr Drew and I are currently developing some exciting new tracks for the next Die So Fluid album whilst our new tour schedule is being constructed for the end of summer onwards.

Ipswich Manor Ballroom was the first of the last run of gigs finishing off this UK tour, a fancy affair of a room with green panels and mirror balls , but alas no stage electricity available for some time on arrival. Matters were made worse/more hilarious when we discovered our dressing room upstairs was next to the social club bingo and Mr drew got most vexed when an old lady told him he couldn't use their toilets and that he should 'tell his friends too' (probably an imagined army of mohawk guitar warriors) Everything came together though and after a plethora of interviews we took to the stage. Milly performed what I have to say was one of the best dives I've ever seen across the stage to hit my tuner right on cue for the first resounding note of Happy Halloween saving the day after my increasingly zealous banter with the sex shop owning hair windmiller and bi sexual admirer who were battling out pole position centre front audience. The folk in Ipswich were a right horny bunch! Very sweet. not sure about the creepy dolls in the kitchen though. and always a thrill to see fans wearing their DSF shirts. Oh yes and on this day I received an e mail offering me a G&L endorsement so i was ecsatic. I've been lusting after a 'real' G&L for ages. Next day my knees were pretty bruised from some of the stage antics i've been doing, and now they're even worse, night after night kneeling at the altar of rock and generally throwing shapes like there's no tomorrow. Margate was a wierd little gig, what is it with seaside towns? I don't think this one was promoted at all. We had a small but passionate audience and I poured my frustration into my performance for the lovely possee who'd seen the gig in Kerrang! During my stay in London I'd bought myself an amazing hat from the fetish shop accross from the hotel. It's called the Boss Grog hat and I used it to full potential the day of the Joiners gig in Southampton hehe. We had an ace interview and photoshoot with the wonderful Devolution magazine. It was also Frazers birthday so we snuck off and all signed a card and got him some posh plonk. Black sonic played a great set at the joiners and I could tell it was gonna be a hot one by the sweat pouring off them when they came off. By the time we played it was absolutely rammed and I shocked everyone by not wearing a catsuit. Feathers and a Boss grog hat are sometimes all you need. Milly became my 'towel-bitch' for the night and i had him come mop my brow mid set. This tour has been quite testing with the PAs and monitors more often than not throwing up problems, and tonight was no exception as someone had wired the monitors the wrong way round and I didn't have any at all for two songs. then it got fixed and suddenly it was deafening. hey ho, that's how it goes sometimes.No one could tell judging by the response.Anyway, what a totally awesome night! Thankyou all cos it was a real high. I had my knees kissed and my bass neck stroked, we really felt the love. Even my sweaty towel was nabbed for me to sign later. later we all sang happy birthday to Frazer and highly embarassed him, lots of us ended up spilling into a club. The last gig of the tour was in Hastings and it was a very emotional show because we all knew it was the end and we wouldn't be seeing any more of Black Sonic. they've been such a pleasure to hang out with and see each day, and always did a fantastic job of warming up the crowds. I will have one or two of their songs running thru my head for some time.We're all looking forward to catching up with them in Lichenstein on July 3 for the festival.One of my brothers came to the gig and gave me Dave Lee Roths autobiography so I'm sorted for entertainment now! While we played our final set the boys were standing to one side of the stage feeding Mr Drew and Al shots throughout the set, Drew got completely wasted it was great. I didn't really need anything cos I had the ladies curse and i 'd taken these wierd acid tablets the doctor gave me which make me feel damn high.Now we're back in London and in the monring we head off to Finland to play Helsinki and Tampere, then Talin in Estonia. I'm looking forward to the next chapter, but we'll miss BS and Milly too and wish we'd smuggled them along in our suitcases.People are starting to see the video on Scuzz now which is really exciting, it should also be on Kerrang tv in the evenings from this week.ps Thanks Stijn and Eliane-Al is stoked with his Dutch So Fluid shirt :D

Take Over Time!

I wanted to add something to Mr Drew's blog because the London show at the Scala was so awesome. Thankyou for making it so special, it was the biggest headline London show we've done so far and will remain in my memory as a landmark gig. From seeing my face adorning the massive poster outside to being shown the Die So Fluid tattoo on Shauna's bum in front of the stage,hehe, standing before several hundred people and feeling the energy in the air, it was such a memorable night,all the more meaningful to me now that I live in the States.There's a great review up already at www.Altsound.com with some ace pics. We had gone up to the Total Rock studios and recorded an interview with them in the afternoon, and done several interviews after soundcheck. We just heard today that we have the front cover of Nocturnal magazine when my interview comes out. Coldchester was indeed a contrast, and I ended up chastising a support act for playing slot machines through our set and carrying out their gear through the audience . It wasn't that they didn't listen, it was that they wanted pictures with me beforehand, and were all 'great set ' at the end. I just can't stand the fakeness.most people know i don't kick off without good reason, it's pretty rare. Anyway, i got an apology.I think it was an astrologically marred day as I also developed a painful mysterious lump in my arm that I was worried could be one of those spider eggs that explodes and lots of tiny ones pour out, and that evening me and mr drew got the joke shower from hell that only squirted water out the sides at intervals. i somehow whacked my head against the wall trying to turn the taps without drenching the whole room. Anyway, the next day the fan belt frayed on the van and we had to drive at a snails pace to Milton Keynes, we arrived nicely par boiled but in one piece as there's no windows that open in the back of the bus!Thanks to our best boys Frazer and Milly for getting us through this manic period unscathed. This is the rock n roll lifestyle, one day it's 'business class flight to Switzerland please, oooo free profiteroles and champagne' and the next it's 'has anyone got a pair of tights we can use as a fan belt?' Milton Keynes was not the best organised gig and ran pretty late, and our fab Dutch Black Bellies friends who flew over to see us in London had also travelled out to MK and were going to miss the show to catch their train. Black Sonic graciously swapped stage times with us to fix the situation,(they rock) and a great crowd materialised StarTrek style.i really enjoyed playing and it was a good end to that particular run of dates. I solved the heat problem by dumping a bottle of water on my head which gave me one panda Kiss eye but it gave everyone a little shower when i shook my head. We showed our appreciation the BS by rockin out to their set and getting them all shots. they took their tops off , it's unfair I can't do that! Next morning we got a replacement fanbelt and headed back to London the record an xfm session. You'll be able to hear four live tracks taken from the new album on Ian Camfields Rock Show. Today it was up fairly early, into gladrags, into taxi straight to the Scuzz tv studio to film our Scuzz TV Takeover! Make sure you catch us playing some favourite vids from the Scuzz archives and introducing Mercury to the Scuzz viewers, me with a particularly husky tone to my voice today :D I wanted to wear my green and black cowboy boots but it was filmed against a green screen and I didn't want to appear as the girl with invisible feet!

Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner that I think London rocks. The wonderful reception we got at the hometown gig probably made up my mind so thank you to all who came, from Amsterdam and Berlin as well as just round the corner. Had a great night on stage and becausee we'd warmed the set up could really get into playing with my two buddies. Next day in Colchester one of the Black Sonic boys commented that after London it was 'Like being drowned in a bucket'. A little harsh - But only a little. Even on the quiet ones there's always a couple of people who turn up and make all the difference. Got mixed feelings about the weather as it's nice apart from being stuck in an airless van and having settled on my bespoke suit style just in time for the summer. Taking a tip from Al i'm keeping the shorts on tonight for Milton keynes.

First day off on this UK jaunt and you know what that means – laundry. We're in Bristol which seems like the only UK town, so far, that doesn't recognize there's a recession going on - judging by it's shiny sprouting harbour view flats and it's star trek control panel launderettes. I would feel like I was in the city of the future if it weren't for the high street chains blasting out the Bristol sound of the nineties and the prominent Banksies (although they have all been defaced which is all very post post-modern). Shit. Sitting in college square has turned me into a latte drinking social commentator. I better get back in touch with my primal side so I can dish out the brutal riffs tonight at the Fleece. The only thing to ponder now, as I watch the underwear spin, is how Al has made it this far with just two pairs of pants.

Nice warm reception at the show from penguins, skeletons, scientists and hells angels alike. And as much as some of the faces tonight we've seen at many gigs before we're getting extra appreciation for playing a full length headline set for the first time on a UK tour. It's not a bad problem to have when you have too many good songs to choose from and after this tour we're going to have to start squeezing in more from the new album. The Black Sonic boys were led off by an angel to spend the night in a padded cell (rehearsal room). Travelodge suddenly looked like the Ritz.
